Registration for the Fall 2019 offering of Linear Algebra: Foundations to Frontiers (LAFF) is now open:https://www.edx.org/course/
The course starts on July 31/August 1 (depending on where in the world you are). Some may wish to use it to brush up before taking a more advanced course that requires linear algebra this fall by speeding through the material. Others may want to take a full semester to complete it.
EdX recently changed its policy regarding auditors. We are very happy that they will allow LAFF participants, both auditors and those pursuing a Verified Certificate, access to all materials under the old policy. Once again, Mathworks has graciously arranged licenses to Matlab Online for all LAFFers and will provide technical assistance related to Matlab.
This course is also an opportunity to prepare yourself for our future MOOC, Advanced Linear Algebra: Foundations to Frontiers (ALAFF). This is a course that we hope to develop for The University of Texas Online Masters in Computer Science. Our vision is to also make a version of this class available to those not enrolled in this Masters program. If all goes as planned, it will start in January 2020.
In the mean time, we are also offering our latest MOOC titled LAFF-On Programming for High Performance . LAFF is not a prerequisite for this course, which uses matrix-matrix multiplication to illustrate techniques for attaining high performance on modern CPUs.
We look forward to interacting with you in class soon!
LAFF long and prosper!
